Improving 7 cybercrime investigation tools
Overview
I was one of two UX Designers on a project for a confidential government agency, conducting user research and redesigning a suite of 7 cybercrime investigation tools.
As a small team of two designers, two developers and a delivery manager, we worked quickly to improve UX with limited access to users and no access to existing systems for security reasons.
The details of this project are under NDA, but I'd be happy to tell you more about it in an interview.
Objectives
- Mapping existing user flows and journeys
- Identify UX pain points and opportunities
- Produce, test and iterate prototypes with cybercrime investigators
- Define and introduce a design system to create visual consistency between tools
- Make recommendations for out-of-scope feedback
Outcomes
- 7 investigation tools redesigned to feel like a consistent package
- Delivery of a bespoke design system for the client
- Tools ready for deployment by BJSS and client developers
